An ADAS calibration is required whenever a repair disturbs a driver-assistance sensor or the part it is aimed against. Why the trigger is the repair, not the dash light
The most expensive mistake on the estimating side is treating a clean scan as proof no calibration is needed. A forward camera or radar can be physically misaimed and still report itself healthy, because it has no way to know the glass or bumper around it moved. That is why manufacturers write their requirements around the operation. Subaru states that "if windshield glass replacement is performed on a Subaru vehicle equipped with EyeSight, calibration is required after the windshield is replaced" (Subaru of America), and Nissan requires the procedure "after any ADAS component removal, replacement, and even vehicle alignment" (Nissan, via I-CAR RTS). Scope the calibration from the repair operations at the time the supplement is written, not after the paint is dry.
